Becoming a Physiotherapist fulfilled Fiona’s dream of pursuing a profession focussed on assisting people to repair, retrain and return to their own bodies’ optimal abilities. Having worked as a clinical Pilates instructor, Personal Trainer, aerobics instructor and as a Physiotherapist in both private practices and hospitals, Fiona has treated a wide variety of clientele with diverse needs and injuries.
She always had a passion for sport and exercise, so whilst completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne, she undertook additional training, completing a Certificate III in Fitness, Certificate IV in Personal Training, and Certificate III in Exercise to Music. Fiona finds that physiotherapy and fitness complemented each other perfectly, helping her to establish herself as a respected member of both professions and to develop her own exercise based approach to rehabilitation.
Fiona is also the Mastertrainer for Gymstick for Older Adults. Having used the product for several years with her clients, she approached Gymstick International with a proposal to develop a program specifically tailored to the more senior population. She now travels around Australia and internationally to present the program to physiotherapists and fitness professionals. Click here for details of upcoming courses.
