Melissa is an experienced physiotherapist with a unique approach to patient care.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Curtin University as well as Graduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from La Trobe.
Melissa's manual therapy and diagnostic skills are complemented by further training in the ConnectTherapy™ and Thoracic Ring™ approaches as offered by Canadian physiotherapist, Dr. LJ Lee. This holistic approach to physiotherapy enables Melissa to assess and manage dysfunction in multiple regions of the body, especially around the ribcage. Complex or recurrent injuries are also well suited to this approach.
Melissa has a strong background in exercise-based rehabilitation after obtaining a Diploma in Professional Pilates Instruction from Polestar Pilates International. Melissa is also a certified Teacher Trainer and involved in delivering Pilates teacher training programs for Polestar Pilates Australia annually.
Her areas of interest include Pilates for injury rehabilitation and athletic performance, persistent pain syndromes, tendon pathologies and spinal conditions/dysfunctions.
Melissa has training in therapeutic yoga and mindfulness meditation, and enjoys learning about these ancient traditions in her spare time.
