Joy graduated with her Bachelor of Physiotherapy with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland in 2015. She has experience in the management of sports injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, work-related injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, spinal injuries, neurological rehabilitation as well as cardiorespiratory rehabilitation.
Since graduation, Joy has further extended her clinical experience in sports and musculoskeletal injuries by working in private clinics as well as providing sports physiotherapy services in local football clubs and high schools.
She is keen to deliver the best evidence-based care to her patients. She is also dedicated to providing high quality care to assist her patients to reach their goals and to maximise their quality of life.
During her Honours research, under the supervision of a world leader in the field of whiplash and neck pain at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Joy developed special interests in postural and muscle dysfunction following whiplash injuries. She is keen on the use of manual therapy and an individualised exercise program for the management of general musculoskeletal conditions including spinal and back dysfunction, and upper and lower limb injuries.
Post graduation, she has also undertaken further professional development courses such as clinical pilates (Rehab 1) and Western acupuncture and dry needling. She wants to use her clinical knowledge and experience to assist her clients to achieve best outcomes and their goals.
